Avalon Nano 3S custom firmware OS portal

Flash HashPower OS

Install persistent on-device performance controls on the Avalon Nano 3S without scripts, remote shells, or a desktop utility running in the background. Downloads are protected by reusable one-device flash credits. Your $20 one-time per-device credit is device-locked to the first Nano 3S you verify. Restoring that same Nano back to stock returns the usable flash count, but the credit remains locked to that device for the lifetime of the product.

Factory recovery is public and does not require a key. Supplying the key previously used on the same Nano is optional and allows the server to return an eligible used flash credit after the device identity and completed restore are verified.

Important legacy update

Install HashPower OS 1.2.73 once, then update automatically

Miners on an older updater need this final browser/manual bridge to 1.2.73. Version 1.2.73 enables the proven automatic-update path for future bug fixes and features, so later releases will not require another USB cable flash.

Step 1 · Windows prerequisite

Install The Nano 3S Driver Once

Windows must use WinUSB for the Nano's K230 boot device before any browser can flash it. Complete this once on each Windows computer, then move to BOOT mode below.

1Download Zadig and run it as Administrator.

2Enable Options → List All Devices.

3Select K230 USB Boot Device, confirm VID 29F1 / PID 0230, choose WinUSB, and install.

Never replace the driver for a keyboard, mouse, storage drive, phone, or USB hub. The correct target is the Nano 3S K230 boot device with USB ID 29F1:0230.

Step 2 · Required before custom or factory flashing

Put The Nano 3S In BOOT Mode

Follow this connection order exactly. BOOT mode is successful when Windows identifies K230 USB Boot Device with USB ID 29F1:0230. If the normal Avalon screen starts, power off and repeat from step 1.

Disconnect USB-C power, remove the Wi-Fi receiver from the Nano USB-A port, and wait for the screen to turn off.
Connect a known-good USB-A to USB-A data cable directly between the PC and the Nano USB-A port. Avoid hubs and charge-only cables.
Use a pin to press and hold the recessed BOOT button. Keep it held for the next step.
While still holding BOOT, connect the Nano's USB-C power. Keep holding for about 2 to 3 seconds or until Windows detects the device.
Release BOOT only after the K230 device appears. Confirm VID 29F1 / PID 0230, then click Verify Nano 3S USB below.

Most common mistake

BOOT must already be pressed when USB-C power is connected. Pressing BOOT after the Nano begins its normal startup will not enter recovery mode.

Use this when you want to return a Nano 3S to stock firmware or recover from a bad custom flash. When stock browser flashing is available, this page writes the stock KDIMG through the same USB process as custom firmware.

License Key (optional) Leave blank for public recovery. Enter the key previously used on this Nano only when you want an eligible used flash credit returned. Detected Device ID Read directly from the connected Nano in BOOT mode.

FACTORY RESET: This is the only recovery method. It writes all 10 partitions and permanently erases all device settings and user data, including HashPower OS files, pools, licenses, and logs. The Nano is returned to factory state as a new unit.

I confirmed this is an Avalon Nano 3S and understand that flashing an image for another model can prevent it from booting.

Factory recovery is available without a license. A valid device-bound key is optional and returns an eligible used credit only after the same Nano is restored.

Factory reset uses the physically proven, reproducibly built full ten-partition image. On first boot, bounded cleanup preserves factory identity and calibration data while removing all non-factory settings, HashPower data, and logs.
